Ashere’ Thigpen was elected to serve her first term as president of PAABSE in May 2019. She began her public education teaching in Humble ISD over 10 years ago. Since then she has taught and held leadership positions in Richardson ISD and Plano ISD. Her love is the intermediate grade levels, she teaches in upper elementary classrooms and middle school.
I have been an educator and member of the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators for 10 years. My teaching career started in Garland ISD, at that time I was introduced to TABSE. TABSE commitment to improving the educational achievement of African-American students is the driving force that drove me to the organization.
Ashley is a proud Navy wife and mom to 3 awesome kids. She attended Stephen F Austin State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and is currently completing SFA's Master of Educational Leadership program.
Beth attended The University of Texas at Dallas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is currently attending Lamar University to pursue a Masters in Special Education.
Lori Brooks received her Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Arkansas State University. She later went on to receive her Master’s in Special Education from here as well. She has since done post graduate work in Educational Leadership at Texas A&M- Commerce. Lori began her teaching career overseas.
Angela Cook-Williams is an Elementary School Counselor in Plano ISD. She obtained a Professional Principal Preparation Program certification from Lamar University. She graduated from Amberton University with a M.A. degree in School Counseling and a B.A. degree in General Studies from University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
Shanda grew up in Waco, Texas and was adopted by Plano when she began her teaching career in June, 2000. She has been an educator in Plano for 19 years. She is a proud graduate of Baylor University and holds a Bachelors in Education and a Masters in Education Administration.
Tiffany has been an educator for 13 years. She currently serves as 7-8 English Language Arts Learning Specialist. Ms. Alexander earned her Bachelor Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2007 and a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas at Dallas in 2016.
