Mrs. Rhonda Williams is dedicated to uplifting and advocating for students as an Intervention Facilitator in Garland ISD. During her time as an educator, Rhonda has championed student success through her leadership and systemic development of programs fostering impactful student and community partnerships. Rhonda hails from Arkansas but has called Texas her home for more than twenty years.

During her time as an educator, Rhonda has championed student success through her leadership and systemic development of programs fostering impactful student and community partnerships.

Rhonda hails from Arkansas but has called Texas her home for more than twenty years. She attended the Great Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas where she received a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy and Bachelors of Business Administration. Because Rhonda truly believes the philosophy of Gandhi that we must “be the change that we would like to see in the world”, she has gone on to continue her educational career at Concordia University Texas where she received a Masters in Educational Administration. When not immersing herself in, learning and facilitating instructional practices, Rhonda spends time with her husband of twenty years and her grandchildren.

Dianne Shaw is an 8th Grade Reading Interventionist, Motivator, and Inspiring Instructional Coach. I have been employed with Garland I.S.D. for 15 years. Thirteen of those years, I facilitated the Scholastic Read 180 Intervention Program (6th-8th) for Special Ed. and Regular Ed. at Lyles Middle School. After 13 years at Lyles, I was fortunate to have an opportunity to work with on-level 8th graders as a Reading Interventionist at the Classical Center at Brandenburg.

My passion for teaching is to work with at-risk learners, to transform their thinking to growth mindset, and to improve our literacy rate.

My daughter, Taylore received an amazing public education and went on to graduate from Smith College in Massachusetts. As a parent and teacher, I know the value of having a stellar education. I am a teacher who have high expectations for all students and believe that they can learn and become an asset to society. My job is to inspire students to do their best and be the best. Texas Education Agency awarded my school the 2018 Extraordinary Achievement Award with Seven Designated Distinctions and this year we are recognized by the Educational RESULTS Partnership as one of Garland I.S.D. Texas Honor Roll Schools. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and volunteering in my community.

Dallas born and raised, she knew that she wanted to make a difference in the city that made a difference in me. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Literary Studies with an emphasis in Education from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2006. Passionate about kids, she coached and taught students in schools located in the South Dallas, Oak Cliff, and Pleasant Grove areas of Dallas, where there is the most need for qualified teachers who care.

Between 2009 and 2011, she finished work on her Master's degree in Education Administration at the University of North Texas at Dallas.

In 2012, she was able to combine her love of helping students and her administration degree and serve as a secondary coordinator for student intervention services in Wichita Falls, TX. 2015 brought her back to the Dallas Metroplex with an administrative position in Garland ISD focusing on keeping students in school.

I am an East Texas native who does not like the outdoors. (Go figure!) My husband and I are living our best lives as empty nesters. I have two sons who are both in college. My oldest is a senior at the University of North Texas and the youngest is a sophomore at Oklahoma State University. Last but certainly not least, I am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Incorporated.

After working in corporate America for over 10 years, problems with my own son's public school experience lead me to the field of education. I have spent the last 12 years impacting lives, one student at a time, by teaching middle and high school students to read for an understanding, communicate effectively and create their own clear, well defended writings. Many of those years have been spent servicing children with various exceptionalities. Assisting students with special needs and their families is my calling and has truly been a blessing in my life. I am currently completing my Educational Diagnostician certification program in hopes of extending my reach to more families by providing the necessary tools for their child's academic development, growth and achievement.

Fun facts: I love chips and salsa or guacamole , the color purple and Blue Bell ice cream! In my free time (which is really sparse these days) I enjoy a good day party, scrap booking and just about any activity with my family!

Ms. Danielle Twitty is originally from Paris, Texas and mother to Destini, a Junior at Prarieview A & M Univerisity and Dalyn, a Senior at Rowlett High School. Her children drive and push her to excel! Danielle has been a dedicated member of Greenville Avenue Church of Christ for the last 23 years. She is an Algebra 1 Pre-AP teacher at Lyles Middle School.

Danielle has a passion to help all students meet their full potential both inside and outside of the classroom. She truly believes in teaching and reaching the whole child.

Danielle has a desire to impact her community and the world in which we live and shed light on the disadvantages that black and brown students face in efforts to make sure that they are provided with the same opportunities for academic success.

In Danielle’s spare time, she sponsors and supports the Lyle’s ACES Step-Team as well as GAABSE’s girls’ mentoring group-Diamonds and Pearls. Her passion for kids stems from life’s roles as a mother, sister, cousin and her strong will to not be a bystander, but rather an advocate for educational change.

Shaneia Smith, GAABSE’s Corresponding Secretary, is originally from Alto, Texas, a small, rural town in deep East Texas. Ms. Smith attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas where she obtained her Bachelors in Liberal Arts and Communication, and later a Masters in Secondary Education with an Emphasis in Teacher Leadership.

Shaneia Smith - Corresponding Secretary

Shaneia Smith, GAABSE’s Corresponding Secretary, is originally from Alto, Texas, a small, rural town in deep East Texas. Ms. Smith attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas where she obtained her Bachelors in Liberal Arts and Communication, and later a Masters in Secondary Education with an Emphasis in Teacher Leadership. Before transitioning to the Dallas-Fort Worth area over eleven years ago, Shaneia taught high school in Nacogdoches and co-founded Students of Color, a student organization promoting culture, advocacy, volunteerism, and academic excellence.

This was the beginning for Ms. Smith, but she desired to make a more global change for black and brown children. After working with a strong and wise staff, plus under the mentorship of her grandmother and women in her home church, Shaneia knew there was more in store for her because He said so: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” (Ephesians 3:20).

Shaneia FOREVER leans on her faith to get through the hills and valleys life brings. At the present time, she is an advocate for students, working on her Masters in School Counseling, and focusing on what God has in store for her future.

Eboney Forté is originally from Paris TX, and has been with Garland ISD for over 15 years where she has served as a teacher, instructional coach and district administrator. She currently is a professional development specialist with Garland. Eboney is a third generation Lion and has a B.A. in political science from TAMU-Commerce (formally ETSU).

Eboney Forté is originally from Paris TX, and has been with Garland ISD for over 15 years where she has served as a teacher, instructional coach and district administrator.

She currently is a professional development specialist with Garland. Eboney is a third generation Lion and has a B.A. in political science from TAMU-Commerce (formally ETSU). She also holds a Masters in Education from Stephen F. Austin University, a Masters in Instructional Design & Technology from Full Sail University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University.

Eboney was raised immersed in academia as her mother was Lamar County Head Start Director and a TAMU-Commerce adjunct professor for over 20 years. She was instilled at an early age with the belief that schooling is the great equalizer and every student is deserving of a phenomenal education. Eboney is the cofounder of EdCamp Innovate NTX and EdCamp Change and enjoys all things involved in EdTech.

She often presents at local and state wide conferences on the topic of 21st Century Schooling and in her free time she operates a cottage bakery, reads, and travels.
